Effects of Stocking Density on the Performance Characteristics, Egg Quality, and Nutrient Composition of the Eggs of Japanese Quails (Coturnix Coturnix Japonica)

Purpose: The aim is to study the effects of stocking density on performance characteristics, egg quality, and nutrient composition eggs Japanese quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica). Study Design: Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Subjects Methods: Two hundred ninety-six (296) day-old sexed assigned four different densities (treatments) with replicates conducted in rainy season. groups (I IV) contained 11, 16, 21, 26 approximate sex ratio 1:1 (male: female) stock 252.20 cm2, 173.43 132.10 106.73 cm2/quail respectively. Standard procedures were adopted data generation, collation analyses. Results: results showed significant differences (p < 0.05) weight gain, hen-day production, hen-housed total /hen, external internal parameters across treatments. lowest feed conversion (FCR) 2.38 % mortality (2.27 %) obtained from group one compared those two three. highest rate was observed IV (12.50 %). proximate analysis mineral recorded values I which also rest groups. Conclusion: It concluded that cm2 bird well standard (252.20 bird) hence could still be quail farming without compromising their welfare performance.
